Planning Permission
Planning permission was refused in December 2020 by Chelmsford City Council for an additional dwelling. Reasons for refusal stated on the decision notice as follows......
'The proposed dwelling, as a result of its design, would not be compatible with the character and appearance of the existing properties. The building does not retain the same scale and distinct features of the neighbouring properties and instead appears as a contrived and discordant addition to the street. The proposal would not respect the domestic proportions or the design of the surrounding development and as a result would be harmful to both the appearance and character of the area. As a result, the development would be contrary to Local Planning Policy DM23 and the objectives of the NPPF.'
